Homicide Task Force

The Winthrop Harbor Police Department is asking for the public's help in solving a homicide which occurred in the far-North Chicago suburb. At approximately 8:30 p.m. on January 6, 2017, 46 year old Winthrop Harbor resident Jeffery LaLond (pictured right) was murdered in the garage of his parent's Winthrop Harbor home. Mr. LaLond was reportedly alone just prior to being killed at this residence located on a a quiet cul-de-sac on an unusually cold January evening.

The Winthrop Harbor Police Department has established a Homicide Task Force which is asking for the public's help, and has announced an additional $15,000 reward for information leading to a conviction in the case. The additional reward is being funded privately by concerned supporters of Winthrop Harbor. Lake County Crime Stoppers is offering a $1,000 reward for information leading to an arrest in the case.
